SHOWS? WE GOT SHOWS.
We're set to headline the Hopetoun Hotel on Friday 26th October with a particularly rad selection of Sydney indie bands. It will be lovely to be supported by The Dead Sea, The Religion and Tennis. Very exciting. Make sure to write it down in your diaries but more importantly, make sure to be there!
This weekend weekend we'll be making our first (musical) trip down to the ANU Bar in Canberra. If any of you live close by make sure to come down!
Check out the shows page for more details.
Thanks so much to everyone whose been at our shows lately. Some of them have been blindingly good fun.
Can't wait to catch ya soon,
DLS

ONWARDS!
Everything seems to be moving along rather nicely here at the DLS camp. This month we're excited to be returning to Candys Apartment for the first time in almost a year on Friday September 14th. It's bound to be a big one. Then we'll be playing Manly Fisho's on Saturday September 15th for the first time so we'd love to see some new and familiar faces out there! For details on these shows and more, check out our shows page.
We were lucky enough to play five really fun shows last month and were thrilled with the attendances and reception we're receiving. Thanks to all who have come out to support us and done wonderful things like our EP! Big shout out to the bands we've shared the stage with who have really help make our lives more fun, especially Glass Army, Dawn Collective and The Religion.
Looking forward to seeing everyone again soon!

HITTING THE GROUND RUNNING
Thanks to all who were nice enough to come support us at the Hopetoun last month. It was the perfect way for us to get back into playing shows again. Now that we're back and comfortable we certainly won't be sitting on our laurels! August is set to be full of DLS shows!
First up we're set to headline Ruby Rabbit on Friday August 10th supported by Helter and Glass Army - one of the best local line ups of moody indie-rock imaginable! Its a Friday night so there's no excuse not to come along to this cosy-little Oxford st. venue.
See ya there!

JULY 11 HOPETOUN - WE'RE COMING BACK
After months on the down-low we are finally coming back into the live circuit with a headline show at the Hopetoun Hotel on July 11th. We'll be coming armed with a new drummer, Anthony Layton (ex The Golden Age and The Tenants), and a handful of new songs. Also on the bill will be Andy Walton Band and Lava Sky.
To celebrate we'll be giving away DLS t-shirts to the first 25 people through the door...absolutely free!
Also, keep an ear on FBi because we'll be dropping by on Monday July 9th to play an acoustic song and have a chat at around 3:15pm.
We'd love to see everyone again at the show! It's going to mean a lot to us.
P.S. We won't be having a long time between drinks again anytime soon because we'll also be playing August 11th @ Ruby Rabbit w/ Helter + Glass Army and August 29th @ Spectrum w/ The Dawn Collective + The Religion
Cheers,
DLS

HOPETOUN CANCELLED
Unfortunately due a family emergency we've had to cancel our show at the Hopetoun on May 1st. We were itching to play that show but sometimes life seems to take things out of your hands. Sorry to everyone who was planning on coming out.
Our May 17th show is still on and we will be rescheduling another show at the Hopetoun sometime in the first week of June. Can't wait to see everyone there!

WE'RE BACK ONSTAGE!
It feels like we've been on hiatus for an eternity but we're back. We'll be feeling our way back to the fertile stage of the Hopetoun on Tuesday 1st May. Overseas journeys, side projects, university and a line up change have all combined to have made the months away from the stage a particularly fundamental time for us in DLS. We are extremely lucky to have Jordan Brown (Glass Army) sitting in on drum duty. We promise to be better than ever so come out and celebrate with us!
For all the details head to the shows page.

LAST STOP!
On November 30th we'll be headlining the Lansdowne with our friends Minder and The Adventure. It'll be the end of us playing 1-2 shows a week...which we've been doing for 14 weeks now-- the best we could do whilst keeping jobs -- so come down for a farewell party. It's FREE entry to boot! Party time!
THANKS!
We really want to thank everyone that has come out and supported us at one or more of our shows over the last 14 weeks. Its been a special time for us that couldn't have happen without you. Its amazing to look back over all the shows we've done and realise just how memorable each one of them was. Thanks also to all the people who opened their houses to us, who lent us their gear, who let us play before or after them and thanks to all the venues who were nice enough to invite us around. Special mention to our Manager Fiona for organising an unruly lot like us and being at each show behind the merch table.

We've been having way too much fun lately. Last week we got to support Jakob one of our favourite bands at Spectrum and then headed over to World Bar a couple nights later to play quite possibly the most sweat-filled shows we've ever done to a full room for a Risky Records showcase. Last night the drum-kit came out second-best after a rock-out to end a raucous mid-week show at Sol's Deck Bar. Thanks so much for everyone that's come out to support us and let us play for them.

30/10/06
We have an exciting and busy week ahead of us on the live front! On Wednesday we're supporting one of our favourite bands in the world at the moment Jakob (NZ) at Spectrum. Alongside us is the new and intriging 'Hand Me My Jetpack' (members include people from I Love Space, Degrees K and Teenager). This show certainly looks like it'll be one for the record books. Friday night we'll be heading to World Bar in Kings Cross to play as part of a Risky Records showcase.
Thanks to everyone who has come out to our shows lately. Newcastle was fun-as-ever with Glass Army and it looked like our increased press of late helped a few new faces find us at the Annandale last week. Thank you thank you thank you.
See ya at a show soon!
Cheers, DLS.

So much has been going on with us recently! We had our first interstate trip to Brisbane which was a successful and insane 2000km round trip. We've come home to find a positivly glowing review of our CD 'Fight the Sunset' in Drum Media this week. "Matched with a production as clever as the songwriting, Fight the Sunset is all class". Stoked beyond belief with that! Check out the bottom of the 'Multimedia' page for a full version.
We're keeping very busy on the show front! Come see us play Newcastle this Saturday 21st with our favourite friends and coolest-band-to-not-yet-be-recognized-enough-as-cool Glass Army! Then we'll be saying thank-you to all the Sydney peeps with a free show at the Annandale on Wednesday Oct 25th as part of the Jager Uprising!
On top of that look at all this!
DLS has been playlisted on the SEA FM/HOT/STAR national radio network

We're in both Brag and Drum street press this week

THANKS AGAIN!
A heartfelt thanks to everyone who came out to our shows at the end of last month. Our headliner at the Annandale was an espeacially special farewell for Billy. The Annandale said it was one of the busiest Jager Uprising nights they've ever had, Saving Grace supported brilliently and the vibe in the room was fantastic. It was one of those nights that reminded us why being in this band is so awesome. Also, a big thanks to Novus and Gabriel's Day for having us as their guests at The Crest and @Newtown.
DLS ON NOVA and FBi Radio!
Thats right. We've made our commercial radio debut on NOVA96.9! They've been giving our song 'Pale Signs' quite a few spins over the last couple days and the reaction so far has been extremely good. In the words of Nova's radio personality 'Rabbit' we are appearently "Damn good!". FBi 94.5 has also been giving our tunes a good go of late which has made us very happy little musicians to say the least!
DLS @ A RECORD STORE NEAR YOU!
The official release of 'Fight the Sunset' to stores nation-wide through MGM is set for when Billy returns in early July. But don't forget that 'Pale Signs' is already available in stores right now as part of the 'Love My Way' official soundtrack alongside artists like The Finn Brothers, Eskimo Joe and Missy Higgins! You can also check out our Myspace page to have a listen to it!
Hope to see everyone soon,
Cheers,
DLS.

THANKS!
We'd like to shout out a massive 'thank you' to everyone who came out to our EP launch! Candy's Apartment was completly packed and the vibe was absolutely out of this world. Thanks to Candy's for providing the perfect venue and thanks to Midnight Swim, The Dawn Collective and Saving Grace for being great friends and great bands. The support we were given from everyone in the room was truly humbling, not only for us but for all the people who have helped us and believed in us along the way. Cheers guys.
SO MANY SHOWS!
The EP launch was only the start of things and if you thought we'd be slowing down for a moment to catch our breath you'll find yourself quite mistaken. Things are getting very busy in Camp DLS. This month will see us playing shows at The Crest on May 26th, @Newtown on May 27th and a headlining show at the Annandale on May 31st. These will be the last shows the band will play before Billy heads off to tour America with his acoustic guitar! Make sure to check out the shows page for all the details and come out to bid him farewell!

The new Days Like Stars EP 'Fight the Sunset' is done and being
pressed right now. We should have 1000 or so copies in our hot little hands within a few days! We
are truely proud of this record and simply just can't wait to
show it to people.
To celebrate we're putting on the biggest and best EP launch ever on Friday May 12th at Candy's Apartment! We've got our favourite friends to support us (who happen to be in our favourite bands -- The Dawn Collective, Midnight Swim and Saving Grace) and the funnest party venue in town to host it! So come along and join us for a massive night! Please visit the shows page for more details.
Oh, and by the way, if you buy 'Fight the Sunset' at the launch we'll throw in a copy of the old EP 'Sweet Raging Battles' for free!
3/4/06
Hello All.
Firstly we'd like to welcome all our new friends we made from our last two shows at the Hopetoun and the Metro's 'Lair'. The turnouts have been humbling as have the bands we've had the pleasure of playing with. Thanks to the Dawn Collective, The Glass Army, Blackbird and Adam Alexander! You've only got one chance to catch us play again this month and it'll be at The Hopetoun on April 10th. Why so quiet on the gig front? Its because of...
THE NEW RECORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our new EP is both mixed and mastered, we are in the final stages of
artwork. Copies will be available to sell in April. So when you have a new record to
give to the world, you need one thing.......
A FRIGGIN MASSIVE RECORD LAUNCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And that is exactly what we are going to do!! We will be launching our record on
Friday May 12th at "Candy's Apartment" in Kings Cross with a massive afterparty
that night to follow. The most exciting news is the huge support bill we have
put together. The Entire M.S.C family (The Midnight Stars Collective) will be
there in full effect with The Dawn Collective and Midnight Swim supporting and
both rocking out. We have hand picked Sydney band "Saving Grace" to open the
night for us in a sign of brotherly support for a great new band. NOW THAT'S A
LINEUP!!!!! So everyone put that date into your diary as the night to remember
this year as we will be partying harder than ever before.
More updates on a tour in May will be coming soon!
Hope to see everyone soon,
Cheers,
DLS.

Recording!
Hey everyone! Its been an exciting few days here in the DLS camp. Yesterday we drove out to the Blue Mountains and finished off the mixing of our new record in the lovely surrounds of our producer's (Luke Hanigan) new home. It sounds amazing and we just can't wait to get it out there. Over the next few weeks we'll be considering our options for mastering with the aim to get it to hit CD racks by around April. It's a huge step up from our last release and to say we're excited about it would be an understatement...
Shows!
There's also lot coming up on the gig front in the next few weeks. Billy's got a couple acoustic shows next week supporting Sarah McLeod (The Superjesus) at the Sandringham and another supporting Dirty Lucy at the Vanguard. Both look set to be very special shows. DLS will finally be making their full band 2006 debut supporting Hey Da Vinci at the Excelsior followed by a big headliner at the Hoey with our friends The Dawn Collective in March. For all the details make sure to check out the shows page.
Love My Way
'Pale Signs', a song from the new record is being heavily featured in the 2nd series of the multi award winning TV drama 'Love My Way'. Its being used each week as the music for the recap of what happen the week before. It airs at 8:30pm Sunday nights on the W Channel.
The official 'Love My Way' soundtrack will soon be released through Liberation which will include one of our songs alongside the likes of The Finn Brothers, Missy Higgins and Eskimo Joe.
Hope to see everyone soon,
Cheers,
DLS

A big Australia day out!
Well what a day it was out at homebush yesterday! And you'll be happy to know that we were out there flying the flag and enjoying some absolutely mind blowing music.
It's been a bit of a ritual over the past 3 years and I think we can safely say that this year almost took the cake. This is interesting due to the fact that everyone thought it was the weakest line up for some time. However, we weren't gonna let that ruin our Australia Day tradition! Here's some of the bands we checked out: Faker, Youth Group, La Fiesta sound system (shout out to jackson!), Josh Pyke, Wolfmother, the incredible Soulwax, Franz Ferdinand, Mars Volta, and 2 many DJ's... Phew! What a day!
And if any of you guys have any stories or rants about the day then drop us an email cos we wanna hear it all. We'll put the best one on the site!
Myspace
As you all probably know Days Like Stars have a myspace.com page up and running. There's an updated bio, a few pics you may not have seen and a Blog that will let you in on whats happening in the World of DLS. Check it out at www.myspace.com/dayslikestars
Also, we've got the full length "Sweet, Raging Battles" tracks online now in the Multimedia section.
Shows
And last but definately not least, we've got the first headliner of the year coming up on the 15th of March at the glorious Hopetoun Hotel with good friends The Dawn Collective, so pen it in with a permanent marker because it's gonna be a big one!
That's all for now more updates soon!
In the meantime check out myspace.

We'll be heading up to the Blue Mountains in early January to put the finishing touches on our new EP which is already sounding unbelievably good. We just can't wait to see where these songs may take us...
On the gig front Billy is gearing up to play a rare solo performance at the Sandringham hotel in Newtown on January 7th and Adrian is set to follow suit with his own show on January 12th at The Fish Bowl in Kings Cross. Check out the 'shows' page for details.

The band has been mega-busy of late. Firstly
the ‘Sweet Raging Battles’ EP is set to be released in
retail and online outlets in July through MGM distribution. Lately
the EP has been receiving a fair bit of local airplay as well as
favorable reviews in the street press and a film clip for ‘Showtime’ will
be ready by the end of the month.
As well as ‘Sweet Raging’ action
work has well and truly gotten underway on our second EP.
We’ve just finished six weeks of intense pre-production with
producer Luke Hanigan (Lo-tel) and all the drums have already been
laid down at Megaphon studios and we’ll be taking an eight
night trip away to a house in the Blue Mountains to record the rest
of it in the next couple weeks. The new songs are already beginning
to sound amazing and we’re all really excited about how it’s
